Gravel Driveways

Welcome to Pacific Earthworks, your go-to experts for gravel driveway installation and rehab. A well-constructed gravel driveway can not only enhance your property's curb appeal but also add value to your home. At Pacific Earthworks, we take pride in our attention to detail and use only the best materials and techniques to ensure a long-lasting, durable gravel driveway that will withstand the test of time.  Because of this, we can confidently say that your gravel driveway will last a long time without needing work again if we are the company you choose to construct or renovate it.

Here are some keys  facts that make a driveway an asset to your home and why you should have your gravel driveway installed, improved, or redone by Pacific Earthworks.

Grading the Sublayer: Before gravel install, its vital that the sublayer is properly graded. Grading the sublayer helps to ensure that water can drain away from the driveway's surface, preventing water buildup and erosion over time.

Road Fabric Underlayment: We strongly recommend using road fabric underlayment for gravel driveway installation. Road fabric acts as a barrier between the sublayer and the gravel, preventing the gravel from sinking into the sublayer over time. This ensures that your driveway stays even and level, preventing potholes and other damage.

Crushed angular 3/4" minus: We only use crushed angular 3/4" minus for our gravel driveway surfaces. This type of gravel is highly durable and provides excellent traction for vehicles. It also packs tightly, creating a stable, beautiful surface that will not shift or move over time.

Crowning the Road: To further enhance your driveway's water drainage, we crown the road. Crowning means that we create a slightly raised centerline, sloping down towards the edges. This ensures that water drains away from the center of the driveway, preventing water buildup and erosion.

Culvert Installations: If your property requires culvert installations, we will ensure that they are properly installed to prevent water from pooling on your driveway. Culverts help to channel water away from the driveway's surface, preventing damage and ensuring a long-lasting surface.

Vibratory Roller: Finally, we utilize a vibratory roller to compact the gravel driveway surface. This helps to create a smooth, level surface that will not shift or move over time. A properly compacted surface also prevents potholes and other damage, ensuring that your driveway stays in excellent condition for years to come.
